lyrics
Sitting in the sun, she's warm to the bone,
her shadow's always long so she feels right at home.
On the mountainside, where the daybreak hides.
She packs up her things, and starts heading West,
the ridge is so worn as she approaches the crest.
Of the mountainside, where the wolves reside.
She takes out some rope, throws it over the edge,
climbs down below, and lands on the ledge.
Of the mountainside, there's a cave beside.
She heads in the mouth, and lights up a lamp,
The width is so narrow and the ceiling so cramped.
Within the mountainside, the walls calcified.
The lamp burns out, it fades to grey,
left in the darkness of the cave,
her shadow disappears in decay,
she slips and tumbles away.
Falling down.
She opens her eyes to the beauty of a stream,
its source is at the summit and it worms through the seams.
Of the mountainside, where she feels alive
Heading back to the road, she reflects on her time,
you shouldn't dare to venture up mountains you can't climb,
unless the time is right, and your lamp is bright.
Walking in the sun, she's getting warm to the bone,
her shadows getting longer, and she's heading home.

Memories and Comeback Kid were my first introduction to this band. From then on - I've always gone to the Midnight for easy listening. Waiting for a bus - Standing in line - Going grocery shopping and pretty much everywhere and anywhere. You can listen to this track over and over again and I feel like it doesn't get old. solstra
"Love Somebody" came up as a suggested listen on Amazon Music and I was blown away... had to go check out the whole album immediately. Awesome start to finish! Immediately ordered the CD and was finally able to snag a vinyl of this one as well. :^) chaddyb

Just had to get this on vinyl although I've been listening to this album for a couple of years already.... now it can take it rightful place beside " Endless Summer!"🧔 Knut -Thomas
