In the morning, the dew hangs still on the grass. In the morning, the birdsong shatters like glass. But if the sun shines, then I'll be fine. Shepherd's warning, the glow of the red like a flare. Hear it calling, in the distance it's pouring somewhere. If the sun's high, we'll be alright. Bring the storm in, the rumble and fire in the air. Hear it roaring, seek shelter from the despair. But when the sun shines, you'll be just fine. Birds are soaring, the sky is clear once again. And you're warming, as your head dries up from the rain. Now the sun shines, you're just fine.

The water's all dried up now, but it used to flow with ease. Through channels made of concrete, 'cross fields to feed machines. And though there's nothing standing, the rubble still remains. I'll pick up my guitar, cross that channel and head out towards the plains. I'll sing so no one hears me, and play it loud. The other day I came across a dirt path deep in the thorns. I followed it just through the rubble and mud, and came out on to a lawn. I could tell that few had been here, it had seen some time pass by. The most difficult paths are often not taken and most folks don't even try. I'll make my peace with the birdsong, and then sit down. I wandered back through the hedgerow and found myself on the track. Scratches all over my twelve string and thorns clinging on to my back. I could've stayed all day in that meadow, the climate so serene, but I knew that I had to head back home and write about what I had seen. I'll pour myself some coffee, and write it down.

Bunny Song 05:22
Hello? I'm fighting against my own. I'm feeling to taking it slow. Deceiving to let myself grow. I don't really know... Goodbye. There's no need to send a reply. I wouldn't put it past you to try. You've say I've got nothing but time, I guess I know why... Walk. Walk with me into the fields, it doesn't have to be for long. Lay. Lay with me down in the grass, and I'll sing you my bunny song. Reach out. I really don't need you to shout. I truly believe you have doubt. It isn't like you to flout, I guess you've checked out... Reach in. Tell me where I should begin. Show me some discipline. Let me get under your skin, for I am your kin...

Hear the trees melt the air. Please, sit yourself down, the blankets laid upon the ground. The tea and scones will fill you up for now. Hear the trees melt the air. The breeze so fragrantly unaware. Breathe, and look round, and think about the things we've found. Like me, and you, we're travelling through and through. Gaze deep in to your eyes. A mirrored glass of the sunlight. Close, your eyes a while, and let yourself drift off in style. Sunbeams and dreams are made up of real things. Take in the atmosphere. Time to enjoy it whilst you're here.

I had a dream I lived in California, back in 73’ when the air was warmer. I wave to my neighbours in the canyon, living their lives with reckless abandon. Oh to be back there. The music in the air. The warmth of the sun. Harmonizing with everyone. I drove around in my 66’ Chevy, spewing out words like “mellow”, “outta sight” and “heavy”. I got all my shopping done in a shop called the ‘R..-R...’. The owner said he was famous but I reckon he was bluffing. And I remember the feeling of walking down the canyon, an alien out of time I walk with no companions. I think of the future, my own time and where I’m lying. A field in the twenty-somethings my longing’s purifying. And oh to be back there. Amongst trees that melt the air. The shadows in the sky. The warmth to stay inside. The blanket on the ground. The starlings circling round and round. The girl on the mountain steep. Maybe I’m still sound asleep?

Mountainside 04:26
Sitting in the sun, she's warm to the bone, her shadow's always long so she feels right at home. On the mountainside, here the daybreak hides. She packs up her things, and starts heading West, the ridge is so worn as she approaches the crest. On the mountainside, where the wolves reside. She takes out some rope, throws it over the edge, climbs down below, and lands on the ledge. Of the mountainside, there's a cave beside. She heads in the mouth, and lights up a lamp, The width is so narrow and the ceiling so cramped. In the mountainside, the walls calcified. The lamp burns out, it fades to grey, left in the darkness of the cave, her shadow disappears in decay, she slips and tumbles away. Falling down. She opens her eyes to the beauty of a stream, its source is at the summit and it worms through the seams. Of the mountainside, where she feels alive Heading back to the road, she reflects on her time, you shouldn't dare to venture up mountains you can't climb, unless the time is right, and your lamp is bright. Walking in the sun, she's getting warm to the bone, her shadows getting longer, and she's heading home.

Where did it all gone wrong? I wrote you a song... For so many years I belonged. Seeing it dissipate, well I feel it’s too late, we’ll never get back to the way things were – and it hurts. What’s really been going on? If only I knew way back, the kind of things that you lack, like keeping in touch and staying on track. Wish I had the courage to shout, instead of constantly being let down. I guess I know now. Well I tried, surprise, surprise, surprise. What’s really been going on? I need to know what’s going on. Tell me what’s going on. Talk to me, what’s going on?

Starlings 02:40
Watching the starlings circling in the sky. No destination, just circling round and round... Swooping right down then soaring back up again. Fly off by yourself but always return to friends. Watching the grass glow, heated up from the sun. Breathe in the sunshine, deep down in to your lungs. Take off and fly, join the starlings in the sky. Fly up amongst them, circle round and round...

Lemongrass 04:10
Silently, she slips in the door, tucks herself in next to him, off to evermore. She flies, into the night. Soaring so high, the wind is warm tonight, and even though she got there late, she’s not far beside. He’s wise, so looks behind. Two beating hearts as one. Like lemongrass blooming in the warm July sun. They are you, determinant. They are few, they are permanent. They are... Falling through the clouds, the cumulus enshrouds, the wind it forms a tidal wave, strong enough to drown. He’s dives, looks for his bride. Awake at last, the wind has come to pass, they’re safe and sound back on the ground.

Rain 04:30
Rain pours down, softly it kisses the ground. Safe and sound, I won't be chasing you round. Frayed somehow, cut from the cloth of your foe. Voices shout, deep in the forest you go. When I come to leave this town, I'll be back someway somehow, disappear return and then, over and over again...

Well this evening is evergreen. Time for some more caffeine. The day it has come, it’s been. The sun has shone its sheen. And the night... So calm, so cool, relaxing for your soul. And the blazing heat can’t compete, so I’m told. And the stars surround the nightscape at your feet. In your dreams... Night watcher, forget not the beauty of the dawn. Well the evening has disappeared. It’s getting dark as feared. The clouds have all but cleared. Constellations so revered. And the night... So calm, so cool, relaxing for your soul. Take a breathe, sit back, relax, time to unfold. And your dreams surround the stars that you can see. Hyperbole...
